About me

laura

Laura Rescio, Italian, born in 1970. Indragopa (ladybug in sanskrit) is my blog. The reasons why I called it that sounded great when I chose it, now I’m not so convinced anymore, but it stuck. Here I write mostly about cooking and books, sometimes about stuff I find interesting or about my job. I am a multilingual translator and writing is one of my most consistent passions. Bicycling and travelling are pretty strong, too.

I started wrting my food blog, Belloebuono, in 2008. I didn’t know yet I had coeliac disease. When I found out in 2010 I turned it into a collection of gluten free recipes. Now blogging made more sense, instead of being just somewhat pointless oversharing: I could meet people who shared the same issues, find new recipes, share my successful recipes and vent my frustration about how difficult it is to bake a proper focaccia with gluten free flours…

I have lived and studied abroad in a couple of places (the Netherlands, Poland) and have moved countless times in Italy too. Nowadays I live on the countryside with a window open on my beloved Gulf of Poets. I keep translating and writing as much as I can. I used to be a vegetarian, now I am not anymore, but I am in love with simple, organic, whole, local foods.
You can leave me a message here, or send me an email to bello.buono @ gmail.com; I’ll be happy to get to know you better!
